It’s competition time, AGAIN. We are delighted to bring you the chance to win a pair of tickets to the 2018 Practical Classics Classic Car and Restoration Show, that will be bigger and better than ever before. From rusty wrecks to stunning cars worth a fortune, the Practical Classics Classic Car and Restoration Show, held at Birmingham’s NEC on 23rd to 25th March 2018, has it all with over 1000 classic cars on display.
2018’s show is set to welcome an out of action Austin A30 with only 24,000 miles on the clock and a 1982 BMW 535i MSport in the Carole Nash Barn Find display. Or if shiny classics is more your cup of tea, head over to the Lancaster Insurance Pride of Ownership stand where you can watch beautiful and unique privately owned classics battle it out to win the first place title. Classic Car Auctions will host their biggest ever sale featuring over 200 ‘every man’ cars, and the likes of Mike Brewer and Ant Anstead will hold down the fort on the live stage where Practical Classics Editor, Danny Hopkins and his team will take on their biggest show project yet restoring a Citroen 2CV across the three days.
If you need help and advice from our motoring experts and celebrities, want to buy the tools to do the job yourself or find a specialist restorer who can tackle the work on your behalf you’ll be spoilt for choice throughout the show’s halls. With cars for sale from both dealers and from Classic Car Auctions, live demonstrations educating even the most expert of restorers, car clubs doing live restoration on their club stands, plus over 1,000 cars on display, it’s the classic celebration inspiring families and enthusiasts of all ages.

I always loved my brothers car in his early years. My fave was the 1987 Ford Capri (which I damanged a bit ), and his Volkswagen Beetle 1300, and I know he dreamed of a Ford Admiral.
Just to drive them again would be great.

I’d want to be taken back to my youth when I had a 1934 Austin 7 box saloon. There were some great cars around in the 60’s that were wonderful fun to drive so I’d be looking to replicate that era although, by then, some of the cars would have been from an earlier age.

I am an ardent British car supporter and the man I admire most in car design and development is Sir William Lyon’s and Jaguar, cars of beauty and their superb Le Mans victories in the 1950’s. So much to be proud of, the way the work force cleared up and got straight back into production after the disastrous factory fire in the 1950’s, and great export figures with beautiful cars in the years after the Second World War when Britain was struggling. Just so proud of our British Motoring Heritage; Jaguar, Aston Martin, Rolls Royce, Bentley, Lotus, Morgan, M.G.,……..and even to day with our development and expertise in Formula 1. So for me it would have to be;

£20,001-£50,000 Jaguar Mk2, 3.4 or 3.8
£50,000 to Unlimited Jaguar E-Type Fixed Head Coupe, Series 3
I like to chose cars that can be driven and used. Seeing them on the road keeps them alive!
A Jaguar Mark ll – as it is my era and a car I have always admired.
Triumph GT6 Mark lll – which is what I owned and restored many years ago – but reluctantly had to be sold for extensive repairs to my then property.. Both car and that property have now gone!!! and I often wonder where my “Fast Lady” is now – and if “she” is still “alive”.
Mini Cooper S – as in my youth I had five different Minis (at different times)-and what fun they were!!!!
£0 -£20,000 1970’s Citroen D S Pallas. Aerodynamic and futuristic shape – A car ahead of it’s time with style and technology.
£20,001 -£50,000 Ford Escort RS MK 11 – For owning a car which created the best era of rallying
£50,001 – £Unlimited Bugatti Type 57 sc Atlantic – For simply fine engineering coupled with exemplary design.
£0-20,000 – Morris Minor 1000 Traveller DeLuxe in Almond Green around a 1963 (my Grandad had one, so happy memories)
£20,001 to £50,000 – Austin Healey Sprite Mk1 in Iris Blue (such a pretty colour and bubbly fun car)
Unlimited – a red 1962 Alfa Romeo 2000 Spider – fell in love with one at a show recently, just love the retro look of this car!
Would love to fall in love with even more cars at the show and get some tips to finish the restoration of our Morris Minor.
