Race Retro is an absolute must for anyone interested in Historic Motor Sport and I was fortunate enough to attend on the Sunday.As expected,the Renault Alpine exhibits both inside the Hall and outside, plus Hillman Imp and Lotus displays were excellent and the organisers and stand personnel are to be congratulated. I had a great day spending a lot of time talking to people on the smaller stands such as The MAC Shelsley Walsh stand, Dellow Register and Westfield Cars. Their Eleven looked great & attracted a lot of attention.Other stands such as the Kop Hill Climb and the Maltese Mdina Grand Prix certainly “whetted” my appetite for events to attend.I managed to attend interviews with Murray Walker, Win Percy and Tiff Needell and obtained their autographs. The Rally Stage certainly brought back memories and the cold wind was reminiscent of when I marshalled on Welsh mountain sides in the 60’s/70’s. Thank you again Will for a truly memorable day out.

Delighted to hear you had a great time. I didn’t get to see Sir Stirling or Murray, but did see Tiff Needell, lots of classic cars and I particularly liked the Silverstone Auctions collection. Watch this space for more Race Retro information.

Seeing Murray and Stirling together talking about the ‘good old days’ was a real highlight, as of course was the rally stage with some fabulous old machinery going around.
Can highly recommend to anyone for next year and thanks very much to mycarheaven for the opportunity!

As last year i had the pleasure of having a drive in a Triumph TR6 and an MGB GT with the Arrive and drive people with HERO.

I’m planning on going on Saturday and will be wrapping up warm going by the weather forecast! Really looking forward to attending this great show and seeing and hearing all those lovely historic rally cars in action on the live stage. Also looking to add to my already extensive collection of rally memorabilia as still have some money from Christmas left over.

Thanks a million Will for selecting me as one of the recipients of the complimentary tickets for Race Retro. I am sure the event will be even better this year with such a star studded line up of cars and celebrities. The event organisers have moved the car park away from the dreaded muddy slope so it makes Stoneleigh an ideal venue. I am looking forward to seeing the Alpines again to rekindle the great sight they were, not only on the stages but seeing them in Welsh farm yards being serviced between stages. Those were the days!
