The Coolest Movie Cars Ever!

Now in line with this website’s theme I am mainly going to look at beautiful, iconic, desirable or cool cars.  So there will no doubt be some omissions, such as 1981 Delorean from the Back to the Future series, or 1963 Volkswagen Beetle from the Herbie series, or 1970 Dodge Challenger from Death Proof and Vanishing Point, or 1976 AMC Pacer from Wayne’s World.

For me I will put them in order, let me know what you think of my list.  What order would you put them?

1964 Lamborghini Muira
Film: Italian Job

1980 Lamborghini Countach
Film: Cannonball Run

Aston Martin DB5
Films: Various James Bond films

Shelby Mustang
Film: Gone in 60 seconds

Lotus Esprit
Film: The Spy Who Love Me

Ferrari 250 GT California

1965 AC Shelby Cobra 427

Well, that’s all I can think of for now.  I’m sure I probably missed some out, so if I did, drop me a line and let me know.

Lists I came across when compiling my list included:

  1. This is a great car to drive, but a nightmare to own

    Rory,

I like the Camaro, but I imagine it is a difficult drive on any non-straight road. I assume the nightmare to own is due to expense to run?

  3. Owen says:

Were was the Grand Torino ???????,,awesome car,it gets like a 15 second role in the movie,,very dissapointing,

Bullit, with the Mustang and Charger thats the way to do it,and McQueen thats the way to do it…………….

  4. Will Wynn says:

    Owen,

I agree, there can always be more cars and car chases. For me the most memorable cars in a movie were the Mini Coopers in the original Italian job. Of course we also loved the Lamborghini Muira, who wouldn’t.
