You want exclusive. Try the Ferrari SA Aperta Roadster!

Ferrari has announced the presentation of the Ferrari SA APERTA at the Paris Motor Show.  There will be only eighty of this special series model built and all have already been sold.  The price is expected to be announced at the Paris show, although the indication is that it will start around the £340k mark, before buyers start to hit the options list.

In essence it is a Ferrari 599 with the roof chopped off. The limited number of the Ferrari SA APERTA is in celebration of Pininfarinas 80th anniversary. It is a true roadster with just a light soft top designed to be used only if the weather is particularly bad. The Ferrari SA APERTA is lower to the ground than any of the other models with a low slung windscreen. Its profile arches back from the A-post to two aerodynamic fins that integrate the two roll-bars which themselves cleverly mimic the outline of the seats.

The interior of the Ferrari SA APERTA is stylishly sporty with particularly sophisticated materials, trim and colours used throughout. The virtually endless combinations available guarantee that each and every Ferrari SA APERTA is absolutely unique.

The SA nomenclature also pays homage to both Sergio and Andrea Pininfarina whose company and work have been linked to the most successful road-going cars ever built at Maranello.

The SA APERTA is a true roadster with what Ferrari describes as ‘just a light soft top designed to be resorted to only if the weather gets particularly bad’. Other modifications include a low-slung windscreen and slightly reduced ride height. Its profile arches back from the A-post to two aerodynamic fins integrating twin roll-bars which themselves mimic the outline of the seats.

The chassis has been redesigned to deliver a standard of stiffness comparable to that of the 599 coupe and there is a negligible weight difference according to the factory.

The SA APERTA gets an uprated 670hp V12 engine beneath its bonnet, and with a virtually endless range of colour combinations available it’s likely that each of the 80 cars will be in some way unique.

Not sure what you think, nice yes, beautiful no.  A collectors car, nothing more…
